Gettin' Dandy with it (with recipe)

THE FIRST IN MY PRODUCT OF THE WEEK SERIES which may or may not be weekly. You could get two in one week and then not another for 2 months. I like to keep everyone on their toes - including me! You won't be surprised to hear first heard about Dandy Blend on iHerb, which is of course one reason I'm a huge fan of the site - so many products at a great price, that are almost impossible or ridiculously expensive to source in New ZEaland. It's honestly where I have found so many incredible things to support our holistic journey, including this beauty so I am hugely grateful. I'll be honest - I love a good coffee (Americano with a dash of cream - what's yours?), but I don't want to drink coffee all day - and especially all night - long and as I manage my own adrenal and thyroid 'stuff', it's clear, that even though coffee helps me feel 'adult' and I don't rely on it nor do I get headaches etc if I miss a few days, it's not always the best choice for my body. There are so many delicious alternatives to coffee: herbal teas, bone broth and of course, Dandy Blend, so whether you want to completely skip on your caffeinated beverages or just add more variety and nutrition, Dandy Blend is a great choice for many reasons, including that it actually looks like coffee and tastes pretty damn close too!

  • It's my 'go-to' for a quick and easy hot drink for the following reasons:

  • It's gluten free (even though its made from barley and rye extracts).

  • It tastes really similar to coffee but is caffeine-free!

  • It naturally tastes a little sweet.

  • It's warm and comforting.

  • It's not expensive. This 200g bag costs under $19NZD and is 100 servings!

  • You can add things like cocoa, collagen and ghee.

  • It easily dissolves just like instant coffee. Add hot water - and stir!

  • You can add your milk of choice, or have straight.

  • Rather than stress our bodies or further tax our adrenals, it actually nourishes.

  • Helps transition away from coffee, minimizing withdrawal symptoms.

  • It's non-GMO and pesticide free. You can even buy an organic version.

  • You can also add to smoothies, marinades, cakes and elixirs.

  • Even people that don't like coffee, often like Dandy Blend.

  • Safe for children, pets, pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Dandelion root is regarded as as one of the best herbs for promoting liver function, regulating insulin levels and relieving inflammation, it's loaded with trace minerals especially potassium. Roasted chicory promotes healthy digestion. Roasted beetroot is considered a blood builder.

Recipe: Dandy Blend Goodness Gracious Mocha

So easy, this only takes a few minutes to put together and most of that is waiting for the jug to boil! Serves 1

Water, freshly boiled 1 tablespoon Dandy Blend powder 1 scoop Collagen powder 1 teaspoon dark cocoa powder 1 teaspoon grass-fed vanilla ghee (optional)

1 teaspoon raw honey, maple syrup or monkfruit blend. Dash of either raw cow's, hemp, almond or cashew milk.

Pinch celtic salt and cinnamon

In a large mug, combine dandy blend with collagen and cacao powder.

Add one teaspoon of freshly boiled water, and stir together for a few seconds.

Add the rest of the ingredients before filling mug with hot water gently stirring with a fork or using a mini frother to whisk it all together!

You could also use a high-speed blender, but always be careful when using with hot water. Can enjoy this recipe morning, afternoon or evening!
