This is the most perfect thing to have on a hot New Zealand afternoon. None of us could believe how good it is, and it's become a regular addition to our house this summer. My daughter loves making it with me and then enjoying the goods afterwards as you can see! It easily satisfies a sweet tooth, with zero sense of deprivation.
It's ketogenic friendly with just 3 grams of net carbohydrates, 8 grams of fat and 7 grams of protein.
It contains collagen which is one of my favourite things to help support beautiful digestion, skin, hair and nails from the inside out.
It takes approximately two minutes to make.
It tastes nothing like a traditional protein shake
Cacao is rich in many essential minerals including the master mineral, magnesium.
It's easily made dairy free.
Double Chocolate Collagen Keto Shake Recipe
Serves 3 | 132 calories per serving
Macros: 5g net carbs, 10g fat, 6g protein, 1g dietary fibre
2 cups, unsweetened coconut milk (or raw cow's milk)
1 teaspoon, organic cocoa powder
100ml lower carb chocolate icecream (we buy Kohu Road Chocolate Coconut which is DF)
8 ice cubes
1 tablespoon peanut butter (optional - we buy Pics crunchy)
Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor (I use my Vitamix) on high until completely smooth.
Pour into glasses and enjoy!
